We proudly source from the Pacific Northwest and across Canada. Canada’s western wine region is mostly concentrated in the Okanagan Valley, BC, between 5-7 hours from Banff. There are over 300 wineries in BC. Interestingly, 90% of the wines produced in British Columbia do not leave the province, which is why you don’t see Canadian wines abroad. The Okanagan is a unique climate, growing many varietals, including grapes that produce big reds for Bordeaux blends. The climate is moderated by the lakes which keep air temps warm at night. The lakes absorb the extreme heat during the day and release the warmth at night so the desert-like environment doesn’t cool down like a typical desert. This environmental function helps to ripen the grapes.
